Alena Shymchonak is an Estonian independent artist whose work has captured the attention of collectors worldwide with its distinctive, expressive style.
From a young age, she discovered her passion for painting, encouraged by her mother, and her artistic journey has been a labour of love ever since. Even in her early years, her dedication was evident, as she spent countless hours drawing and exploring her creative abilities.
Her artistic style can best be described as impressionistic, characterized by an individual approach that sets her work apart. Using paint and a palette knife, she sculpts moments onto canvas, creating a rich interplay of colour and texture.
Nature remains a constant source of inspiration in her work. Her connection to the Mediterranean Sea and its luminous coastline has left a lasting imprint on her artistic language. Alongside coastal scenes, she is also inspired by alpine landscapes and iconic destinations, translating the atmosphere of renowned places into her own expressive visual language.
Her paintings radiate warmth, vitality and a sense of joy.
A distinctive feature of her work is her aerial compositions, which unfold in vibrant colour and dynamic movement. These scenes invite the viewer into an immersive, almost dreamlike experience.
Her work has gained international recognition and is now held in private collections in more than 85 countries worldwide.
Through her paintings, Alena reflects a belief that in an increasingly complex world, the simple beauty of colour and form can bring light, joy and emotional connection.
Her work is, above all, a celebration of life.
